GT Software Accepted into the IBM SOA Specialty
Service Oriented Architecture Approach
Drives Business Agility and Flexibility

ATLANTA, GA, 27th March, 2007 – GT Software, a leading provider of rapid SOA development solutions that leverage mainframe resources, today announced its acceptance to the IBM SOA Specialty, after successfully completing IBM’s rigorous SOA technical and business requirements. With this achievement, GT Software’s Ivory Service Architect integrates with the IBM SOA Foundation, a single, integrated platform that combines the industry’s top application server and integration capabilities.

With GT Software’s Ivory Service Architect, developers can quickly and easily create and publish Web services, developing right-sized composite business services from existing mainframe assets with little or no training, and no consulting required. The solution then provides a high-performance runtime engine for executing the deployed business services.

The centerpiece of the company’s mainframe solution, GT Software’s Ivory Service Architect consists of Ivory Studio, a graphical modeling environment; and Ivory Server, a high performance SOAP processor with runtime service orchestration and WSDL repository. Underscoring GT Software’s commitment to SOA, Ivory Service Architect allows the mainframe to become an active participant in an SOA.

IBM announced an SOA Specialty in PartnerWorld for Industry Networks. The IBM SOA Specialty provides technical enablement and a skills-building roadmap for partners who want to access the growing SOA market opportunity. For those who achieve key milestones, the Specialty will also provide SOA-specific marketing and sales benefits such as SOA Connection Events to meet directly with IBM SOA Sales specialists and discounted print advertising and telemarketing.

IBM Sales Connections, a consultative service in the PartnerWorld Industry Networks, helps business partners close SOA deals quickly by connecting them with the relevant IBM SOA and local field sales team.

“SOA is an increasingly important business requirement for organizations because of the business flexibility it enables,” said Sandy Carter, vice president, SOA and WebSphere, IBM Software Group. “GT Software’s commitment to SOA provides their customers with a powerful way to create web services quickly and easily, while evolving existing developer skill sets to embrace the benefits of web services".

"Support for SOA is an essential ingredient in both modernizing legacy applications and developing new Web services,” said Rob Morris, senior VP of marketing and strategy at GT Software. “Becoming part of the IBM business partner ecosystem helps call attention to both the importance of Service Oriented Applications to today’s enterprises, and to GT’s solutions. We appreciate the confidence that IBM places in this relationship, and look forward to extending its benefits to our shared customers.”
